I am from Jamaica , home of:

I am from a large, very large family – the immediate ones being Fenton, Clarke, Turner, and Morrell – residing largely in the western region of the country. My father, a landowner and village lawyer, had 17 children. All except 2 lived in our house at some time. We are steeped in oral history. We were told, for example, that our paternal great grandfather and his brother arrived in Port Royal in the 19th century on a French ship. They never returned. As family we talk and we talk! I hope to write about my life some day. I think I have an interesting story to tell.

My journey in the professional world began as a “Girl Friday” or Office Clerk at my father-in-law’s accounting firm, Capleton, Jones & Company. There I met and worked with an accountant from India, Kenny Benjamin. Kenny loved dogs and tried out his training skills on our dog, Timmy. He later became my mentor and a Caribbean business mogul as founder of the Guardsman Security Group. I learnt so much about business at Capleton Jones. Those days we were exposed to all areas of business and accounting. Today everybody specializes. There was great camaraderie among staff and I enjoyed my years there.
